NOTICE: WE ARE CURRENTLY CONDUCTING HYBRID ZOOM / IN-PERSON MEETINGS AT STATION BELLINGHAM.
Welcome!
Flotilla 11 (Bellingham, WA) is part of District 13, Division 1, of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
At an average of fifty members, we are a diverse group coming from all backgrounds and experience levels. Whether you're seventeen, long ago retired, or somewhere in-between, you'll find someone to connect with in Flotilla 11.
As a flotilla, we work actively with the public, promoting recreational boating safety through classes, public events, and free vessel safety checks.
We patrol the waters along the northern Puget Sound coastline and the San Juan Islands, keeping a watch and offering assistance to those in need.
Members polish their skills and gain new ones through classes and on the water training. We work closely with Coast Guard Station Bellingham in both training and volunteer assistance.
We support the active duty and reserve U. S. Coast Guard crews at Station Bellingham and on the cutters Terrapin and Sea Lion, based in Fairhaven. We participate in their training, assist with communications and public events, and provide or support morale activities like Thanksgiving dinner and the annual Coast Guard Day picnic. Active duty crew often join us in public affairs and public education activities.
We, as a flotilla, are also big on "fellowship", the fourth cornerstone of the Auxiliary. Several times times a year, we get together on a more social level. We usually include boating-related activities, but the emphasis is on fun and getting to know our fellow members.
We meet the third Thursday of the month at 1900 hours (7:00 pm), at USCG Station Bellingham, 28 Belwether Way. Please make sure to check our news for updates.
Come join us and see what we're all about! |
